Varsity softball battled hard against power house Saline but came up just short in 4-0 loss.  Junior Natally Pease took the mound for the Pirates and threw 6 innings of 6 hit ball with 6 k's and 3 earned runs.  It was an outstanding performance by the junior to start the season.  Addison Wroblewski,  Natally Pease and Emma Fesl all recorded hits for the Pirates.  

Your Pirates took the field against FGR Friday and took both games 15-0 and 17-2.  In the first game Sophomore Sydney Arnold took the mound and held FGR to 0 hits over 3 innings striking out 4.  Natally Pease went 3-3 at the plate and drove in 4 runs, while Senior Ayla Wright went 2-3 for the game.  Freshman Jade Chelenyak hit a triple that turned into an inside the park HR for her first high school hit.  

Game 2 saw freshman Jade Chelenyak take the mound and pitch to her sister Senior catcher Makenzie Chelenyak.  Jade went the distance allowing 1 hit over 3 innings and striking out 5.   Sophomore Sydney Arnold drove in 4 runs with her first home run, a grand slam in the bottom of the 1st inning.  Arnold, Ayla wright and Addison Wroblewski each had 2 hits for the Pirates.  The Pirates are in action again at home Monday against Laingsburg.
