Archers Compete at Michigan Archery Assoication Championship

On May 17, 5th-12th grade Pinckney Pirate Archers attended the Michigan High School Archery Association Championship where several members of the team earned their highest score ever!   Here are some of the highlights: Pinckney Archery Middle School Girls (grades 5th-8th) earned 1st PlaceMallory Cebula earned a 1st Place Medal with a score of 294 in the Compound Bow Open Class Division Pinckney Pirate Middle School Boys (grades 5th-8th) earned 2nd PlaceJoshua McClelland earned a 2nd Place Medal with a score of 243 in the Barebow Compound DivisionPinckney Pirate High School Girls (grades 9th-12th) earned 2nd Place  Senior Sydney Caster earned a 3rd Place Medal with a score of 242 in the Compound Bow Open Class DivisionPinckney Pirate High School Boys (grades 9th-12th) earned 1st Place Ezekiel Watson earned 3rd Place with a score of 205 in the Barebow Recurve Division

Girl's Track and Field are Regional Champions

Congratulations to our Pinckney Pirate Girls Track and Field team which placed 1st in today’s MHSAA D2 Regional at Chelsea.The Pirates, who captured their 2nd straight SEC white title last week, won 3 events today and totaled 116 points to outdistance the 15 team field.Way to go Pirates!

Pirates took both games of the double header vs Jackson 15-0, 15-0.  In game 1 Natally Pease was 2-2 at the plate and Senior MacKenzie Burns hit her 5th home run of the season.  Pitcher Sydney Arnold went the 3 innings allowing 0 hits and striking out 2.In game 2 Addison Wroblewski was 2-2 and Mackenzie Burns was 2-2 as well for the Pirates.  Natally Pease hit an inside the park home run for the Pirates.  Her 3rd home run of the season.  Jade Chelenyak went the full 3 innings allowing 0 hits and striking out 8.  The Pirates Play Bedford Wednesday at Bedford.

Softball downed Chelsea in second game of the double header.  The Pirates won game 2, 6-4 in extra innings vs Chelsea to gain the split of the double header.  Junior Pitcher Natally Pease went the distance giving up 3 earned runs and striking out 9.  She was also 4-4 at the plate and drove in 2 runs.  Junior Morgan Kubat was 2-4 and Sophomore Sydney Arnold was 2 for 3 at the plate for the Pirates as well.  In game 1 the Pirates came up short 2-0 vs Chelsea.  Sophomore Addison Wroblewski was 3-3 at the plate for the Pirates and Junior Pitcher Natally Pease went the distance striking out 12 and only allowing 1 earned run.

Varsity Softball improved to 11-3 with a league win over Ann Arbor Skyline yesterday, 13-2.  Senior MacKenzie Burns was 3-3 with a double, triple and homerun.  She drove in 5 runs for the Pirates.   Senior Makenzie Chelenyak also drove in 2 for the game.  Freshman Pitcher Jade Chelenyak went 3 innings for the win allowing 1 earned run and striking out 6.  Sophomore Sydney Arnold closed the game out striking out 1 over 2 innings.  The Pirates are in action tomorrow on the road vs Salem.

Pirates Softball travelled to Leslie for the Blackhawk Invitational.  In the first game the Pirates took down Charlotte 19-2.  Addison Wroblewski was 3-3 with 3 RBI's.  Junior Emma Fesl was 2-2 on the day with 1 RBI, and Sophomore Sydney Arnold was 2-2 with 3 RBI's for the Pirates.  Sydney Arnold went 2 innings allowing 1 earn run and striking out 1.  Pitcher Jade Chelenyak followed with 1 inning and allowed 0 runs and struck out 3.  In the Second game the Pirates took down Leslie for the Championship 15-5. Pirates hitters Wroblewski, Pease, Burns, Kubat and Fesl all had multiple hits, with Morgan Kubat hitting her first home run of the season.  Pitcher Natally Pease went 6 innings allowing 5 earned runs and striking out 10.

Varsity softball travelled to Stockbridge and came away with a 9-4 win on Friday.  Senior MacKenzie Burns was 3-4 with 1 RBI.  Senior Makenzie Chelenyak was 2-4 with an RBI, and Junior Morgan Kubat was 2-3 on the night.  Junior Pitcher Natally Pease went 4 innings allowing 0 runs and Striking out 9.  Freshman Jade Chelenyak followed with 3 innings allowing 1 earned run and striking out 6.

Pirates JV Softball took game 2 against Pioneer for their first win of the season 15-9.  Wallman, Ringe, Duke and Ramsey all had multiple hits for the Pirates with Wallman collecting 3.  Jorie Shlickenmayer went 5 innings allowing 1 earned run and striking out 5.  The Pirates are in action at home tomorrow vs Stockbridge.

The Pirates battled hard to take down Pioneer 8-5 yesterday.  Senior Mackenzie Burns went 4-4 on the day with 5 RBI's to lead the attack.  Sophomore Addison Wroblewski went 3-5 with 2 doubles to keep her hot bat going.  Sophomore Sydney Arnold went 3 and ⅔ innings allowing 1 earned run on 3 hits and 1 K.  Freshman Jade Chelenyak came in on relief of Arnold and went 3 ⅓ innings allowing no hits and striking out 5.  The team voted Jade player of the game.  The Pirates are in action Friday for a DH at Stockbridge.

Varsity softball fought back from a 7 run hole to take game 1, 10-7 from Tecumseh.  Junior Natally Pease went the distance on the mound.  She allowed 6 earned runs and struck out 12.  Sophomore Addison Wroblewski went 3-4 with 3 RBI's and Junior MacKenzie Burns was  2-4 with 3 RBI's as well.   Game 2 was called early with the Pirates leading 12-6.  Wroblewski and Burns had multiple hits in game 2 as well.

Pirates Varsity Softball took down Ann Arbor Huron 15-0 in 3 innings.  Junior Natally Pease got the win for her team allowing 1 hit and striking out 3.  Senior MacKenzie Burns was 2-3 with her first home run of the year.  Senior Ayla Wright also went 2-3 for the game.  Freshman Harper Henderson recorded her first High School hit going 1-1.  The Pirates are in league action Monday against Tecumseh at home, first game starts at 4pm.

Varsity softball battled hard against power house Laingsburg on Monday.  The Pirates dropped game one 6-1.  Junior Natally Pease took the mound and gave up 6 hits 2 earned runs and struck out 8. Senior MacKenzie Burns collected 2 hits for the Pirates in the loss.  Game 2 saw the bats come alive and the Pirates take the win 18-8.  Junior Natally Pease went 3-3 with 2 home runs driving in 5 rbi's.  Senior Ayla Wright also parked one over the fence for her first home run of the year.  Senior Mackenzie Burns collected 3 hits and Emma Fesl and Addison Wroblewski each added 2 hits. Freshman Jade Chelenyak went the distance on the mound allowing 7 hits, only 4 earned runs and striking out 7.The Pirates are 3-2 on the year and will follow up Mondays action with a single game against Ann Arbor Huron Thursday 4:30 at home.

Game 2 saw freshman Jade Chelenyak take the mound and pitch to her sister Senior catcher Makenzie Chelenyak.  Jade went the distance allowing 1 hit over 3 innings and striking out 5.   Sophomore Sydney Arnold drove in 4 runs with her first home run, a grand slam in the bottom of the 1st inning.  Arnold, Ayla wright and Addison Wroblewski each had 2 hits for the Pirates.  The Pirates are in action again at home Monday against Laingsburg.

Varsity softball battled hard against power house Saline but came up just short in 4-0 loss.  Junior Natally Pease took the mound for the Pirates and threw 6 innings of 6 hit ball with 6 k's and 3 earned runs.  It was an outstanding performance by the junior to start the season.  Addison Wroblewski,  Natally Pease and Emma Fesl all recorded hits for the Pirates.
